Job Description:
Our Client currently has a position available at their Group Head Office in JHB/PTA for a Product Developer within their Retail - Sales division.
This position requires an assertive and self motivated person who is capable of working both individually and within a team to meet demanding challenges enabling to reach its business objectives.
The successful candidate will be working within the team that's responsible for strategic planning and positioning.
Research and Development: Conducting technical product and market research in alignment to the vision.
Developing products and solutions underpinned by Investment philosophy and approach suitable to the market, designing, implementing, distributing and monitoring thereof.
The successful candidate would be required to use his/ her expertise to do the following:
- researching and reviewing Group's Sales investment product offering in the
financial advisor environment
- identifying trends within the wider investment product space
- performing competitor analysis and reviews as required
- liaising with internal stakeholders (eg.marketing and distribution and other
Groups business units) and external parties (eg. asset managers) in
researching and developing investment products
- pricing and profit testing of new and existing investment products and funds
- developing bespoke product solutions and pricing structures
- reviewing profitability and pricing of existing products
- custodianship and ongoing development of existing products, revisiting of
marketing position, reviewing pricing, profitability and features in light of
market
- development of technical marketing and BA related tools, which assists with
development, testing and sales process of product to market
- technical support to stakeholders, eg. the product management team,
admin and distribution, profit reporting team
Job Requirements:
- Matric/ Grade 12
- Bachelors degree or equivalent
- Nearly/ Newly qualified Actuary (FIA/FFA)
- CFA could be an advantage
- At least 2 - 4 years' experience in investments market
- A keen interest in broader business
- Understanding of financial planning principles, practices and procedures
- Strong Computer skills - MS Office, especially Excel
