Our client is seeking a suitably qualified person to assist with new product and business development. The position involves being the primary person responsible for development and implementation of new products, by acting as the link between EXCO, the product development team and other business units. The role includes development of investment (pre- and post-retirement), risk, umbrella and preservation solutions. The candidate will also work closely with the various client/consultant relationship managers and direct sales team, providing them with any technical expertise and expert support that they might require building distribution channel confidence and assisting with enhancing sales. The incumbent is individually accountable for achieving results through others, over periods of 3 months to a year.
Duties and responsibilities include:
Be the primary person responsible for delivering and implementing Corporate products.
Works closely with the Corporate product development team to manage and prioritise product deliveries.
Works with distribution teams (Key Account Managers, Direct Sales and Broker Corporate Sales) to identify and test new product ideas.
Perform initial investigations and feasibility analysis of potential products.
Uses expert actuarial knowledge of corporate products to build distribution channel confidence around product ranges and create customised solutions for clients.
Regular travel to Cape Town may be required.

Role Qualifications and Competencies:
Qualified Actuary, with a minimum of 6 year’s actuarial experience.
Ability to make balanced and sound recommendations & decision.
Ability to analyze and integrate information.
Good verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
Willingness to work with others in a team environment.
Investment, product development and consulting experience will be beneficial.
