| Description |
| • To monitor and report on all aspects of Treating Customers Fairly (from a financial perspective), with particular reference to recommending the exercise of discretion in the with profit funds to ensure compliance with their Principles and Practices of Financial Management (PPFM).
• To provide the support necessary for the With Profit Actuaries to carry out their duties
• Monitor and manage risk
• Lead and supervise a team of qualified and part-qualified actuarial staff.
• To propose bonus and review investment strategy for the with profit funds.
• To take appropriate output from actuarial systems to support the declaration of annual and final bonuses to relevant standards.
• To develop and maintain appropriate documentation and controls of processes.
• To ensure the team is developed appropriately and is fully up-to-date with relevant emerging developments in the industry.
• To contribute to the With Profits Committee and support the With Profits Actuaries as required preparing draft reports to a common standard for the With Profit Actuaries to present.
• To formulate recommendations regarding annual and final bonuses as required
• To ensure that the calculation of asset shares are maintained and developed and improved as appropriate.
• To report on the allocation of revenue items, investment policy proposals and others aspects of discretion as regards with profits business.
• To monitor the treatment of customers as regards non-contractual exit values and report any concerns.
• To propose basis and parameters for with profits for disclosure systems.
• To develop systems and processes to report on compliance with the Principles and Practices of Financial Management.
• To maintain and develop the full and customer-friendly Principles and Practices of Financial Management.
• Ensuring that with profit fund customer communications are appropriate regarding policyholders’ reasonable expectations/customer interests.
• Alternation and transfer value bases for policies in with profit funds.
- To ensure effective identification and management, in line with corporate standards, of all operational risks arising from project or business as usual activities.
• A qualified actuary with a significant experience in the industry, particularly in the context of with profits funds
• An in depth understanding of all the dimensions of a with profits life company, developments within the industry and operating constraints.
