• To safeguard shareholder interests and ensure that shareholder views are adequately represented in the day-to-day running of the business.
• To identify and facilitate delivery of financial benefits and opportunities arising from existing portfolio..
Lead strategic initiatives to increase both policyholder and shareholder value and expedite the distribution of capital to shareholders. For example, simplification of the group structure through development of a Part VII strategy,
Deputise for the Head of Shareholder Value Management at life company committees providing shareholder oversight of the Life Companies.
Monitor the development of shareholder value through Group MI reporting, identify risks to shareholder value and recommend corrective action where necessary.
Interact closely with the Life Companies to foster a co-operative environment of continual improvement.
Liaise closely with the finance function to ensure that there is close alignment of focus and consistency.
A qualified actuary, experience in the industry
An understanding of all the dimensions of a with-profits life company, the drivers of value and operating constraints.
Up to date knowledge of industry/regulatory developments in respect of financial management and individual capital assessments in particular.
