The key responsibility of the position will be to assist the Statutory Actuary of the International subsidiaries to do valuations, experience analyses, profit analyses, reporting, etc. on these companies. The aim will be to take over this role as soon as the incumbent is ready to do so.
 
The duties will include:
Developing programs for valuing new products and other modelling requirements by using cash flow projection models (Moses)
Doing valuation runs for quarterly actuarial valuations, including reserves, value of in-force, value of new business, CAR calculations, sensitivity, etc
Analysis of surplus and change in embedded value
Experience analyses and management information reporting
Other valuation tasks such as assisting with old book valuations, transfers of business, etc.
 
The applicant should meet these requirements:
Matric or Grade 12 certificate
Qualified actuary A minimum of 3 years relevant post qualification experience, preferably Life Office valuations experience
Working knowledge of the MS-Office packages is essential
