Job Title: HEALTH STATISTICIAN - CAPE TOWN
Description
Introduction
Are you an analytical, meticulous and organised problem solver with 2-3 years experience in managed care, health risk management, health service/product pricing or scheme benefit design?
 
The Incumbent will be responsible for:
• Monitoring benefit expenditure and comment on scheme benefit design • Monitoring the performance of various managed healthcare initiatives and interventions • Identification and analysis of risk factors in the medical schemes environment • Risk measure development for incorporation in scheduled and ad hoc reports • Risk rating algorithm development and maintenance for schemes and scheme options • Provider and member profiling model development • Development of various health related predictive models
 
The applicant should meet these requirements: • Analytic and problem-solving abilities • Qualified and experienced in working with MS Excel and SPSS (or the like) • Must have extensive experience in working with information systems and be skilled in various data preparation techniques • Tertiary qualification, majoring in statistics
 
Recommendations • Experience in statistical analysis on clinical data • Been exposed to one or more of the following: Cognos BI Suite and Sybase IQ • Has worked in the South African medical scheme industry
