| Qualifications
We are probably looking at a mixture of qualified and part qualified (maybe 50/50 ratio).Years qualification is not as important as breadth of knowledge and exposure.
Need actuaries with practical experience of Life and Pension products sold in the UK over the last 25 years (including final salary schemes).So would potentially take a 3/4 qualified person with experience over a qualified person with no experience.
Team Structure
Team structure not finalised yet - will either be 2 teams of 10 or 1 team of 20 (actuaries, business consultants, system architects etc). The actuaries will report to the Project Manager.
The role
The role is for a CSC client who is looking to convert company A's L&P business onto a CSC system and then run the BPO operation. The actuaries will be looking at Company A's existing calculations to assess if these calculations are appropriate to replicate onto converted system or if new calculations are required and if so then specify the new calculations. They will be working alongside Company A's own actuaries.
The requirement is to analyse calculations and produce specifications for a large block of "heritage" pension products for changes to a clients production system for any new calculation types.
The products in scope are UK (including Jersey, Guernsey and IOM
variations) pensions - individual, group individual and "true group" (final salary). This includes S32, S226, Individual Pension Arrangements, Group Money Purchase, Group AVC, Executive Pension Plans, Final Salary and TIP.
There are unit-Linked, unitised with-profits and conventional (with profits and non-profit) variants.
The full set of calculations to be covered - premiums/benefit, bonus, switch, annuity, death (in service and in retirement), reserves, transfers (in and out), etc.
A range of expertise/knowledge levels is preferable - we need senior (perhaps fully qualified?) and more junior/"hands on".
The roles are (at least initially) to be performed in Telford, Shropshire. It will involve 90% time in Telford and the rest in Aldershot at
